This long established programme provides rigorous training in both theoretical and applied research for those who wish to pursue their career as a professional materials scientist.
This programme will:
- Build on your engineering background to gain an advanced, yet broad knowledge in materials science, with the freedom to specialise through a research project.
- Provide an insight into areas of manufacturing, planning and control systems, knowledge based systems and measurements and manufacturing systems. The course is interdisciplinary in nature and involves a combination of theoretical and practical approaches.
Programme structure MSc Materials Research is currently available for one year full-time study. The programme includes four core modules, one module option and a research project.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have completed a 2:1 or above at the undergraduate level in a subject with substantial mathematical content from a recognized university.
- Students also require knowledge and familiarity with basic Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, and Computer Science.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students must have completed 3-4 years of bachelor’s degree with 60%.
- All other Indian Institutions’ students require 70% First-Class honors.
