De Montfort University’s Music course covers the science and technology of audio and recording systems and how these can be used effectively in recording, mixing mastering and sound design. Students will learn the principles of studio technologies, developing a comprehensive awareness and understanding of the studio context through investigation of its anatomy, including the underlying digital and analogue technology and the acoustic environment. Through core modules, they will learn about the fundamentals of audio engineering, discover the acoustical foundations of musical sounds and be introduced to studio techniques.
