The Department of Critical and Historical Studies sits at the heart of Kingston University School of Art. Critical thinking is one of the skills most desired by employers. They will help students to develop their critical and analytical skills in relation to art and design history, theory and practice; and apply these skills to areas of creative and cultural practice which will be useful to their future career. The department encourages students to immerse themselves within Kingston's world-renowned studio culture, and its ethos of ‘thinking through making', and the range of innovative modules and modes of assessment will offer students the option to realise their assignments through a combination of written, visual and three-dimensional formats.
