Ria Jain Review at University Of Northampton, Northampton | Collegedunia

University of Northampton - Ria Jain BSc, MSc

RJ
9.2 /10

I did my Bachelors due to course contents being offered for Marketing and I thoroughly loved the structure and the faculty. Best faculty ever. For my Masters, I came back due to an Alumni scholarship worth 50% which allowed me to resume my studies. I liked that Masters in this university comes with a placement year and I feel a placement year has multiplied the value of my course 10 fold.

Course Curriculum :

I personally feel this university’s management courses are good, value for money and the faculty is very supportive. However, due to foreign culture, students need to seek knowledge rather than assuming that it’ll be given to them.

Exams :

- IELTS 8 and above is good. However, I was exempted due to good scores from high school grades and previous study abroad conditions. - Salwan Public School, Delhi. CBSE (12th) 89% best four; CBSE (10th) CGPA 8.8 - Requirements: I had to submit an SOP and this is very important along with a CV and letter of recommendation but SOP is extremely critical.

Placement :

You get all the support from university career team but students have to be forthcoming in booking sessions to have CVs reviewed and take mock interviews etc. When a student engages well and does their part, it is very much possible to get a placement. It is difficult but not impossible. I applied for over 800 roles and got through only 3 in-person interview stages but at the end of the trying process, I had a placement. So one has to be ready to endeavour.

Fees :

15000GPB when I applied in 2022

Faculty :

For Project Management - Samual Alexander, Deborah Alexander, Gosia Plotka, Chijioke Uba, etc. Marketing Management - Grant Timms, Jason Vaughan I could not get such good faculty even if I went to a top-notch university. Despite dealing with 100s of students, the personal attention and support provided is exemplary. Always approachable and available to clarify doubts or provide support in hour of need.

Campus Life :

This university has a new campus built in 2018 so all the infrastructure is latest and well maintained. Uni offers loads of sports and societies for students to get engaged in outside of their studies. It also has on campus GP clinic for medical requirements.

Hostel :

Students usually pay quarterly, en-suites can be expensive but highly recommended. On-campus accommodation provides access to 24-hour security and on-campus facilities like library access etc. But off-campus may allow for more affordable and larger room space in comparison.
