Prospects post University, as well as offer of being a campus University with a tight knit community that's easy to fit into.
Course Curriculum :
Very relevant curriculum, especially with new modules and content being continuosly produced to ensure relevancy such as environment focused content even in finance.
Exams :
My scores: IELTS 7, CBSE 80% (12th) as an equivalent requirement to A levels. No other requirements.
Placement :
Excellent graduate prospects. Career fairs available on campus, lots of links with companies as well. Support in the placement process to go and get a job and fairly good graduate salaries as well. Median of about £24k-25k with many cases of higher.
Internship :
Carried out a placement in my third year at Altius Group with a yearly salary of £17,500
Fees :
Slight changes throughout the course with an average of about £18,000 a year with half fees for a placement year. Total cost of about £63,000.
Scholarship :
No.
Faculty :
Fairly low faculty to student ratio compared to other courses at the same uni but this is due to the popularity and size of the course. However, academic tutors particularly in later years are very approachable and have a good impact. Catherine Salzedo in particular helped me significantly in my final year.
Campus Life :
Plenty of facilities on campus, from sports centres to bars and restaurants. Library is stunning also and campus is laid out very well. Short bus ride or taxi journey away from the city of Lancaster (10 minutes or so) where there are even more options. These include a castle, several nightclubs although there are less of these compared to a bigger city. Overall a very solid offering, especially considering good rail links to big cities like Manchester, Liverpool or London all of which you can get to within an hour or two means it's a very good option.
Hostel :
Lots of options for accommodation all the way from shared facilities to studio flats. No bedroom sharing in any case, so will always have that to yourself. You can either share toilets between a floor or between a couple people or just to yourself at still fairly reasonable prices compared to the likes of London. A basic room at the university with a toilet to yourself and a shared kitchen at the University accommodation costs about £135 per week. Off campus accomodation available in later years can offer the same for a bit cheaper but also need to consider the cost of transport in this difference.
