Because of its high rank as a university and for my degree. I entered through clearing so it was one of my only options. I didn't know anyone from this university and I wasn't too fond of the location at the time either, however, since being here I am very happy.
Course Curriculum :
My course has a great structure which I like. This is one of the main things I took into account when choosing this university. It is very up to date and I feel really prepares its students for the future.
Exams :
The admission requirements for my university (Lancaster University) were 35 IB points, in my case, or the equivalent to an AAB in A-levels. Other than this there were no other requirements as it is a public university in the UK.
Placement :
You get a lot of opportunities. Big companies come to visit very often, giving talks and seminars. Aside from this we are also told about opportunities by our societies which is a great way to get internships.Lancaster is one of the top universities in terms of employability, 84% of students have a job after 15 months from finishing their degree according to the guardian.
Internship :
I have interned at a Mondelez International (snacking giant). It was an unpaid internship as I was 17 at the time. I have interned at a Law firm, also unpaid. I am currently working at a startup as a manager, although it is unpaid, I do receive equity.
Events :
Campus life is great, it has worsened because of Covid though and I don't feel I have been able to make the most of it.
Fees :
£9250/per year, for 3 years.
Scholarship :
No, I have not.
Faculty :
I am in the Lancaster University Management School. I am unaware of the number of people here and the ratios. It is a very good faculty which is really well recognised. The staff is also very helpful and is always able to help. Matthew Howard is one of members of staff who has really helped me.
Hostel :
I live in a facility provided by aparto. It is a private student accommodation facility which I was able to move into as soon as it was built. It is very expensive but I enjoy living there as it does provide certain amenities.
