There were a few reasons I aspired to study at NUS. First, I wanted to pursue Computer Science, so I considered factors like programme quality, university rankings and expert opinion. Second, for my undergraduate studies, I preferred not too move too far away from Singapore. So, NUS was my #1 choice. Honestly, NUS is a very prestigious institution and the fact that CS is a competitive major there motivated me to take on the challenge. I felt that graduating from here would make me well-moulded to take on real-world challenges.
Course Curriculum :
I've only finished my first semester here, so my firsthand experience with the overall course curriculum would be limited. However, from what I've studied so far, I can confidently say that the course syllabus is updated, relevant and really challenges students. The initial parts are adapted from the MIT curriculum and aims to build a very strong foundation. The way the syllabus is taught made me really appreciate the subject on another level (although the first semester was a huge jump from high school and is pretty challenging in my opinion). I haven't had industrial exposure/research experience yet (as I just finished my first semester), but NUS has great research opportunities and industrial exposure(internships are compulsory and you can choose from extra opportunities that the university notifies you with).
Exams :
NUS requires you to submit your board results (in my case, CBSE). I submitted my 10th grade board scores along with my 12th grade predicted scores. Additionally due to the COVID circumstances (and because I'm classified as an international student), later on in the admission review process I was asked to submit my 12th grade preboard results. SAT and other standardised test scores are optional to submit, but I submitted them: SAT 1: 1480/1600 , SAT subject scores: Chemistry: 800/800, Math:800/800, Physics: 780/800 Besides test scores, an essay is required to express your interest in the course you are applying for and is a chance to showcase your passion for the subject through extra and co-curricular endeavours and why you would be a good candidate. There is also a section to fill in 3 of your outstanding achievements on international, national and regional levels.
Placement :
NUS post-study Placement/Research opportunities are pretty good for students. (This is from the statistics, so you could probably check the previous year placements for more comprehensive prospects).
Events :
NUS has loads of clubs and events all year round, so there's no dearth of extra curricular activities. I don't stay on campus, and haven't joined any clubs as of now.
Scholarship :

Faculty :
The faculty and staff are very well versed and approachable. Different professors have their preferred modes of communication, but regardless, they are always there to answer questions and provide clarifications.
Hostel :
I don't stay on campus, but you could check the university housings website.
