Oxford Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme are designed for graduate students of the highest caliber coming from across the world who wish to study at the University of Oxford. The university contributes 40% of the funds along with 60% from donations provided by supporters of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust.

  • Students who wish to pursue PG programs at University of Oxford are eligible to apply.
  • Students must demonstrate how their choice, of course, is interlinked with their career objectives
    • By relating it to professional work  and contribution to public welfare 
  • The scholarship will cover the full amount of their tuition fees and a part of living costs up to 17,668 GBP (18.64 lakhs INR).

The Leadership Program by the Weidenfeld and Hoffman Trust is awarded as a part of the scholarship for the comprehensive development of the applicants.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must pursue an eligible master’s program at the University of Oxford to apply for Oxford Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships. In addition to that, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements listed below:

  • Applicants must be international students who wish to study in the UK at Oxford.
  • Must return to their home country after completion of their course.
  • Must demonstrate how their choice, of course, is interlinked with their career objectives.
    • It can be relating it to professional work, contribution to public welfare

Applicants who have received a deferred offer for admission in 2023-24 will not be eligible for the Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme.


Application Process

In order to apply for the scholarship program, eligible students need to select Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme in their University of Oxford Scholarships section. Applicants must submit their admission applications before the January deadline of your program.

In addition to selecting the scholarship in your graduate admission application, candidates are required to complete a statement for Oxford Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships. The guidelines for the scholarship statement are mentioned below:

  • Complete the application form for the choice of the graduate programs along with the following information:
    • Personal information
    • Choice of graduate program and preference of multi-disciplinary college at the University of Oxford.
    • Information regarding the previously attended Universities including location, degrees, and results.
    • Professional work experience of two recent jobs with details regarding main responsibilities.
    • Details of any other Oxford or non-Oxford scholarship that the applicant has applied for.
  • Applicants will have to provide answers to the following four questions in maximum 200 words per question:
    • Why do you want to participate in the Weidenfeld Hoffman Trust Leadership Program? What value do you see in our Moral Philosophy Program and Enterprise challenge?
    • How can one individual make a difference?
    • Have you ever mobilized a group to achieve a common goal? How?
    • What is the challenge facing your country that you want to help resolve?

Students are required to complete and submit the Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarship Statement before their course deadline.


Selection Process

Selection of the recipients for Oxford Weidenfeld and Hoffmann scholarship will be done on the basis of the assessment of their application form, Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship questionnaire, and the interview.

  • Any shortlisted candidate will have to participate in an interview conducted on Skype in the month of April/May.
  • Final decisions can be expected by the end of May 2023.
  • Only selected candidates will be notified about the outcome of the scholarships.

Grant Details

Students who wish to study in the UK at Oxford University with financial aid are encouraged to apply. However, applicants must meet eligibility criteria to apply for Oxford Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships.

The University of Oxford offers partnership schemes to its scholarship recipients. The Weidenfeld-Hoffman Trust that jointly sponsors the scholarship with the University of Oxford is also a partner of the Louis Dreyfus Foundation and Chevening.

Applicants for the Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann scholarship are automatically considered for the award from the Louis Dreyfus – Weidenfeld and Hoffmann.
