Singapore International Graduate Award is a fully-funded scholarship for international students planning to commence doctoral studies in Singapore. SINGA Scholarship is a kind of financial aid program which offers students a chance to study at three partner universities:

Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR),
Nanyang Technological University (NTU),
National University of Singapore (NUS), and
Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

with a monthly stipend. The scholarship program allows students to conduct research in the field of Biomedical Science, Physical Science, and Engineering. Various benefits of Singapore International Scholarship Award are given below:

SINGA Scholarship award offers tuition fee exemption to shortlisted students..
Monthly stipend of 2,700 SGD (1,65,810 INR), which will be increased to 3,200 SGD (2,04,998 INR) after the passing of the Qualifying Examination.
One-time airfare will be provided up to 1,500 SGD (82,963 INR).
The settling-in allowance will be provided up to 1,000 SGD (55,309 INR).
Applications to accompany a spouse will be granted by SINGA Scholarship Holders.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants of any nationality from around the world are eligible for Singapore International Graduate Award. The basic eligibility requirements for the scholarship program are:

Completed a bachelor’s and/or postgraduate degree with an excellent academic result.
Hold a passion for research and willing to research program on selected areas like:
- Biomedical Sciences
- Physical Science
- Engineering
Outstanding writing skills and fluency in English.
Two academic letters of recommendation.

Application Process

The application process for Singapore International Graduate Award is quite straightforward. The step-by-step guidelines are mentioned below:

- Recent passport-size photo (in .jpeg or .png format)
Collect transcripts and reports (must be translated in English). In addition, include
- Letter of certification from the institution
- 2 academic letters of recommendation

Select and apply for Singapore International Graduate Award
Complete the application form and submit it before December 1, 2024 for the August 2025 intake

Note 1: Applicants must submit their applications as early as possible. This will provide ample time for their referees to submit their online recommendation reports before the application deadline, as only applications with 2 recommendation reports will be processed.

Note 2: Applicants are requested not to mail any hard copy documents to SINGA Office. All necessary documents are to be submitted online.

Selection Process

The selections are strictly based on the applicant's academic record and participation in co-curricular activities. Apart from these, following elements also play a significant role:

Interest in research work and capability to use that study towards the benefit of self and society will also be considered.
Letter of recommendation submitted

Only shortlisted candidates will be notified via email within 12 weeks from the application closing date. An interview may also take place in person or through electronic media before the final selection of the scholarship holder.

Grant Details

The Singapore International Graduate Award is designed for doctorate students who want to study in Singapore and pursue research in the fields of Biomedical Sciences; and Physical Science and Engineering.

The applicants require strong academic records, specified research areas, good knowledge of their research project and good command over the English language.
The applications are made online and the award covers almost all the expenses of the applicant during the study period.

Terms and Conditions Regarding SINGA

The recipient cannot avail of any other scholarship or grant along with SINGA.
International recipients must be in a 2-year service in Singapore-based companies without commitment to any specific organization.
The area of work should preferably be in Biomedical Sciences, Physical Sciences or Engineering.
