The AG Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship is provided to those students who want to study in Australia and become eligible for Bachelor of Commerce. The scholarship program is designed for high potential students belonging to the following countries:

  • Bangladesh
  • India
  • Sri lanka
  • Vietnam

This University of Melbourne scholarship is a great help to students who are financially disadvantaged but are academically deserving. Students with greater academic tract records will receive greater coverage via this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for AG Whitlam International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship, each applicant must fulfill the following requirements:

  • International students must be from one of the developing countries:
    • Semester 1: Sri Lanka and Bangladesh
    • Semester 2: India, Vietnam, and Bangladesh
  • Completed Year 12 program or equivalent in a country other than Australia.

In addition to these requirements, students must meet the requirements for undergraduate admission at University of Melbourne. Requirements for Indian students are:

  • A score of 82% from either All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) or Indian School Certificate (ISC).
    • Compulsory subjects requirement: English and Mathematics.
  • Satisfy the English Language Proficiency by providing scores of one of the following tests:
    • IELTS -  6.5 (with no band below 6.0).
    • TOEFL - 79 (with a score of 21 in Writing, 18 in Speaking, 13 in Reading, and 13 in Listening).
    • PTE - 58 (with no communicative skills score below 50).

Note: ELP waiver- Applicants with 50% or Higher marks in Final Year English subject from CBSE XII or CISCE Indian School Certificate can fulfill English language requirement.

Selection Process

  • The selection of students is strictly based on academic merit.
  • Results achieved in the most recent years of study are to be considered for the screening process.
  • Selection process for the scholarship is to be conducted in two rounds:
    • Commencing students in Semester 1, 2023 (Between July 2022 to February 2023).
    • Commencing students in Semester 2, 2023 (Between March 2023 to June 2023).
  • The successful candidates will be informed about the scholarship with an offer letter sent via email.
