The Trustee Scholarships are awarded to international students who wish to pursue UG programs at Boston University (BU).

  • Students having strong academic standing and contribution to school and community can apply for the Trustee scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Trustee Scholarships, international students must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be commencing studies in any UG program at BU
  • Must have secured a position in the top 5% in their high school class.
  • Must have a GPA of 4.0 in high school.
  • Must have an SAT score above 1500 and an ACT score above 33.
  • Must be expected to be academically excellent .
  • Must have outstanding performance in extracurricular activities and achievements in school and community.

Application Process

Prospective candidates who wish to obtain Trustee scholarships 2020 must meet admission requirements at Boston University.

The application for the Trustee Scholarships includes essay submission along with a Common or coalition admission application form.

The 600 words essay is to be written on one of the following topics.

  • Give a glimpse of an intellectual pursuit or challenge that absorbs you, gives you joy, or provokes your curiosity, and state the reason why.
  • One of the distinguished alumni, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., wrote that “The time is always right to do what’s right.” Is there a time when you sought equity and fairness by challenging a social norm? Or, share an example of how you can help in creating a more inclusive and fair community?

All the applications must be submitted by December 01, 2023, to be considered for the same.


Selection Process

The selection for the Trustee Scholarship is based on merit. Candidate’s academic records, leadership skills, and essay submission will be taken into consideration during the selection process.

Recipients of the scholarships will be notified by the university. 20 selected students will be awarded a 100% tuition fee waiver for UG programs.
