An applicant’s entire personality is taken into account during the selection process. From academic excellence to personal achievements, everything is equally considered. As per majority of top institutions in Germany, selections for Deutschland Stipendium are based on the following factors:

  • Scholastic and professional recognitions
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • Special achievements, if any
  • Volunteer work, if any

Selecting the successful candidates and approaching potential sponsors with financial assistance from the Federal Government - the entire process is conducted by the respective universities.

Germany recognizes and appreciates the role played by young professionals in its development, so the government aims to promote education by providing scholarships and grants. More than 7,500 sponsors contributed to raising around 29 million euros along with the government last year. Students who are recipients of the Germany scholarship are allowed to have other sources of income as well, like the BAfoG.
