I have heard about this college from one of my close friends. He recently took admission here in 2020 and has talked a lot about the Haldia Institute of Technology.
- The coding culture in Haldia is notmuch appreciated as it doesn’t satisfy the students’ need to learn to code promptly. Seniors usually guide their juniors in coding.
- The library at the college is well-equipped and it will help you more than the teachers. My friend got all tutored by his seniors and because of which he became quite an expert in coding.
Furthermore, the college has great placement opportunities during the on-campus drive. There are a number of off-campus offers to choose from. For the 2021 batch, the highest package offered was 40 LPA with 82% of the students placed in total.

The most expedient girls’ hostel at Haldia Institute of Technology is Begum Ruqaiya. Students refer to it as BR hostel.
It is a first-year hostel for girls. It is a decent hostel that does not make students sacrifice their fun or freedom. However, there are certain strict rules that need to be obeyed. After 7:30 the students are not allowed to leave the hostel. Not following these rules results in serious repercussions.
You can play indoor games as well as badminton till midnight. Befriending new people, bonding with roommates for the four years of your hostel life definitely brings in new surprises and fun.
Even the food is quite edible. Better than the food served in Matangani.
After the end of your first year, you would have to vacate it for your juniors and shift to another hostel that is Matangani.
