RS
Rahul Sinha Posted On : February 19th, 2022
B.Sc. Economics & Finance, Ashoka University (2018)

OP Jindal and Ashoka University both offer decent bachelor's programs in Economics. But the syllabus and education approach of the programs are quite different.

  • The course curriculum of OP Jindal has a balanced practical and theoretical approach. While the syllabus followed at Ashoka is more theory-oriented.
  • OP Jindal has a wide range of electives that you can choose from. Ashoka has less number of electives for their Economics course.
  • 2 internships are mandatory at OP Jindal. You will get good exposure to the corporate world through these internships. At Ashoka, internships are not compulsory.

Overall, OP Jindal will be a better option for pursuing a UG degree in Economics.

The course of coding at Ashoka is not as good as the IIT’s of India. Studying here I can tell that Coding is still in development, rather being a newer establishment.

Course structure

  • At Ashoka, Computer Science is not focused only on programming. If any student is interested in coding, they are given many opportunities to achieve greatness in that particular field.
  • The university organizes City Hackathons and provides extra-credit assignments every week.

Is Ashoka University a better choice than other private universities such as Narsee Monjee and Symbiosis?

RV
Roopal Verma Posted On : July 1st, 2021
Studied at Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development

Ashoka University is a far better choice than institutes like NMIMS and Symbiosis. Yes, it's a fact Ashoka has short existence when compared with the other two institutes.

Ashoka University is entirely on a charitable drive by the group of big reputed entrepreneurs who motivate to make a radical change in the history of the Indian college education scenario. It focuses on better education rather than money-making students.

Symbiosis and others can not match Ashoka's record as you can see its alumni are in top companies. You will get good opportunities and exposure in Ashoka than in other institutes. Co-curricular activities and sports are the best part of the student in the institute, as you see in brochures on the website are the same.

AM
Anindita Majumder Posted On : August 14th, 2020
Studied Political Science at Ashoka University (2020)

While Lady Shri Ram is an old, renowned college, Ashoka is relatively young and lacks a strong alumni network and instant recognition. According to NIRF rankings, Lady Shri Ram ranks among the top 5 while Ashoka University is placed on the 20th. Ashoka being a private university might not be affordable to everyone as its fee structure is too high but the facilities and exposure provided compensate for it.

Lady Shri Ram offers in-depth knowledge via a scholarly and reputed contingency of faculty which help in shaping future leaders. Some of the finest brains of the industry are prodigies of this college, recruited by top organizations like McKinsey, BCG, Standard Chartered, SW and many others offering an average package of 7.3 LPA, while Bank of America offered the highest package of 37.8 LPA. In the 2018-19 academic session, nearly 300 internship offers were rolled out with over 150 industry giants like Nestle, Dell, Bloomberg, AIG to name a few. Over 150 paid internships were offered to the students, the highest internship offer stood at INR 1,50,000 for 2 months. The average stipend for paid internships was nearly INR 9,750 per month.

Ashoka University boasts of a profoundly knowledgeable and exuberant faculty profile which is few and far between the UG colleges in the country. The tie-ups with reputed institutions like Ohio State University, Yale, Kings College London, UCB and many others cement the future foundations for individuals. With its unique curriculum Ashoka not only imparts deep knowledge but instills excellent leadership skills, a global perspective, and fervor to bring reform. How are online classes in Krea and Ashoka University?

AS
Akshara Singh Posted On : October 18th, 2021
B.S. Computer Science, Ashoka University (2023)

With the hit of COVID-19 all over the world, things were just getting worse. Ashoka University did a splendid job in the area and flourished in certain aspects.

Smooth transition

  • The students were in the middle of their mid-term break when COVID-19 hit. So, naturally, the break got extended for a week and then the classes were supposed to begin online for the next 3 weeks of the Spring semester.
  • It was the sheer hard work of the admin team of the University that ensured that students face no trouble when starting with the online classes.

Professors’ efforts

  • The professors put in great efforts to resemble teaching like the offline one even when they did not have enough time to get used to the method.
  • It got easier as the recordings were available so students did not miss out on anything.

Exams

  • With the education system shifting online, taking unfair advantage in exams became common.
  • In humanities, students are known to plagiarize their answers and in courses like engineering, students collaborate and cheating becomes quite easier.

So, Ashoka University ensured doing its best in every aspect and has succeeded in doing so. It is not easy to change the way of things overnight. Offline teaching has been a traditional method of teaching. It was challenging for so many institutes in India to change their path from offline to online.
