How is life as a day scholar in NIT Jalandhar?

VS
Vidhant Sharma Posted On : December 7th, 2022
B.Tech in Production and Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (Graduated 2022)

My brother was a day scholar at NIT Jalandhar and according to him being a day scholar in NIT Jalandhar is not easy. You might face several issues as a day scholar.

  • Making friends becomes more difficult as no one prefers a day scholar

  • You cannot enjoy the freedom of a hostel life

  • Commuting back and forth every day is a hefty task

  • You cannot participate in a lot of competitions and performances as they require long hours of stay

So if you want to make the most out of your college as a day scholar make sure you use all its resources to the fullest extent. Make the best of your time inside the campus and learn skills like typing.

What should I prefer: NIT Jalandhar mechanical or DTU MAM?

RR
Raj Kumar Ray Posted On : December 7th, 2022
B. Tech from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (Graduated 2013)

Between NIT Jalandhar Mechanical Engineering and DTU MAM, the latter is the better option. This is because the placements for DTU mechanical are excellent. Some of the most reputed firms that visit the campus are Bajaj, Volvo, Daimler-Benz, Brahmos Aerospace, Technip, Schlumberger, Caterpillar, etc. Most of my friends from the same branch were able to secure amazing packages at top firms.

The learning process at DTU is more extensive. It has a lot of Mechanical Engineering teams which can help you know your branch better.

So choose DTU over NIT.

NIT Jalandhar students secured 75 lakh packages. Is it beginning of the era of emergence of NITs over IITs

AS
Anuj Singh Posted On : December 7th, 2022
Studied Mechanical Engineering at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ ) (Graduated 2020

It’s good to see institutes other than IIT gaining fame. But the parameter of such assumptions is not good. Why do we Indians judge an institute mere based on the packages they offer. There are so many other false factors that increase or decrease the value of a man institute. So before deciding that NITs have become better than IITs consider the following points:

  • Placements and packages alone cannot determine the worth of a college.

  • Including IITs no college in India actually conducts the type of research a country needs.

  • There are many instances wherein companies prefer going to an average college for recruitment than a better ranked one. This is because they can than assure the sustainability of talents.

  • The starting salaries don’t help you succeed in the long run.

So we cannot say with certainty that NITs have overpowered IITs just because they were able to land better packages.

Which college will be better for me, NIT Trichy (production engineering) or NIT Jalandhar (CS, IT)?

LK
Lakshay Kaushik Posted On : December 8th, 2022
B tech from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ ) (Graduated 2017)

Comparing the two NITs we know NIT Trichy has a better ranking than NIT Jalandhar. It also holds a stronger brand name. Unless you are extremely interested in Software, I suggest Production Engineering is a better choice. Some points to prove my opinion are:

  • NIT Trichy ranks in the top 15 engineering institutes in the country from a placement perspective.

  • More companies visit for campus placements like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, and Cisco.

  • NIT Trichy has an upper hand in faculty, infrastructure, competitive environment, peers, resources, curriculum, labs, and alumni network.

  • Many finances, banking, consulting, etc. based roles are offered at NIT Trichy and these opportunities are considerably low at mid-level NITs such as NIT Jalandhar.

  • Post Graduation, if you wish to switch sectors then the brand name of NIT Trichy will help you along the way.

So don't lose a much stronger brand simply because of a simple stream issue. Years down the line, your credibility will be determined by the brand of NIT Trichy solely and not by production engineering at NIT Trichy.

What should be the preference order of NIT Jamshedpur CSE, NIT Jalandhar CSE, and NIT Patna CSE?

KS
Kokila Singh Posted On : December 17th, 2022
Lived in Patna, Bihar, India (2017–2018)

NIT JALANDHAR CSE should be prioritized over NIT JAMSHEDPUR CSE and NIT PATNA CSE. If you look at their placement, you'll see that there isn't much of a difference between these colleges when it comes to this branch. All you need is good infrastructure and a welcoming atmosphere; otherwise, sooner or later you will find yourself regretting your choice somewhere on campus. When discussing the infrastructure of these colleges, you must consider their NIRF ranking.

To be honest, NIT Patna's campus and facilities are fairly mediocre and unsatisfactory. Then there's NIT Jamshedpur, which is right next door. It, too, needs to improve significantly. However, because it is located in an industrial area, it attracts a large number of students who study Electrical, Mechanical, and other related fields.

Which should I choose, ECE or IT at NIT Jalandhar?

FS
Farah Shah Posted On : December 17th, 2022
Studied at NIT Jalandhar

Some professors at NIT Jalandhar are so corrupt that they will not properly educate you. They will slide some ppt in class with very little knowledge and no details so that you have back in that subject and you will have to pay 3000rs to clear back. You will then be eligible for your summer course.

Because there is no teacher for EE, you will have to combine classes with CSE or IT. The college is so far away that you can't even consider going out late at night. You should never come here if you are from another state. The college is full of locals who don't even know how to make angle components.

You'll be stuck between studying and writing papers for the rest of your life. The hostel managers and staff are so corrupt that if you don't lock the doors, you'll be fined. Food is purposefully made so bad that you can't even swallow it, and if you throw it away, they can charge you 50 rupees.

What is the average placement and package after completing a BTech in textile technology from NIT Jalandhar?

KA
Kajal Agrawal Posted On : December 17th, 2022
B.tech. in Production and Industrial Engineering

The textile branch at NIT Jalandhar is a moderate branch with a good placement that varies year to year, sometimes being rich and other times being less than average. There are fewer opportunities in core Textile design jobs in this branch, but some good students with good academic performance and good communication skills will definitely get placement in Analytics and other software development companies.

In 2021, the highest salary package available is 43 LPA. The course provides excellent placement opportunities. It requires students to complete internships at various companies. This college's placement statistics are quite appealing, as textile placements are at an all-time high after CSE and ECE.

AB
Akash Bhatia Posted On : December 19th, 2022
B.Tech from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ )

If the issue is placement, you can make the best decision for yourself; however, if the issue is culture and discrimination, keep in mind that you are studying in India, and your rights are protected by the Indian Constitution. Furthermore, it is a matter of personal preference. emerge from it Placement is not everything; personality development is a more important trait to instill in yourself.

And after placement, you will be placed anywhere in the country or the world, not just in Jamia Milia Islamia. Try to adapt to any situation, make good friends, and have fun with them. You'll be there studying. So focus solely on studying because it will pay you back. You must work hard to get a job.
