TAPMI Manipal Announces Former IIM Lucknow North Campus Dean Dr. Rajeev Kumra as New Director

New Delhi: Dr. Rajeev Kumra has been appointed as the Director of T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal faculty. He officially assumed the position on January 2, 2024. TAPMI is a part of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), recognized as an institution of eminence and deemed to be a university.

Dr. Rajeev Kumra has joined TAPMI from the IIM Lucknow, where he served as the Dean for the IIML Noida Campus (2018-20) and the Dean for International Relations. With a distinguished career as an academician, Dr. Kumra has excelled as a teacher, researcher, trainer, and consultant. Recognized with nearly a dozen best faculty awards at IIM Lucknow, he has also contributed to teaching at various international universities.

Dr. Kumra has achieved the remarkable feat of being honored with the prestigious title of "Best Faculty of IIM-Lucknow" for an unprecedented eleven consecutive times, establishing a record in India.

Furthermore, his exceptional contributions have earned him titles such as "Best Faculty of IIM-Jammu." His accolades extend to achievements in categories such as "Best Elective," "Best Core Course," and "Best Marketing Elective," accumulating a total of 22 awards in the "Best Faculty" category across various IIMs.

His global teaching experience spans six countries, including institutions like Kelley Business School, USA; Kedge Business School, France; MIP Politecnico di Milano, Italy; and the American University of Dubai, Dubai.

The training programs designed for Chief Marketing Officers, Marketing Heads, and Sales Heads by Dr. Kumra are widely acclaimed and consistently receive top-notch feedback. With a track record of having trained over 5000 managers and over 400 companies to date, including CEOs, Founders, and IRS officers, his expertise is highly sought after. During the event, Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M D Venkatesh, the Vice-Chancellor, extended his best wishes to Dr. Rajeev Kumra for his role at TAPMI. Dr. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (MLHS), also conveyed steadfast support for the new Director.

Dr. Veeraraghavan, previously serving as the Director of TAPMI from April 2017 to March 2023 before his elevation to Pro Vice-Chancellor, expressed confidence in the seamless transition of leadership. The Director (In charge) of TAPMI, Dr. Durga Prasad M, expressed great satisfaction in ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

Dr. Durga Prasad M, a senior faculty member, will continue in his present role as Dean Administration, a position he has held since August 2021.
