SIT Pune Signs MoU with Bajaj Auto Limited to Set Up Bajaj Engineering Skills Training

New Delhi: Bajaj Auto Limited, a reputed automotive manufacturing company, and Symbiosis International (Deemed University) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) at Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune. 

The collaboration is aimed at spreading awareness about the BEST program. For this, a grand event- the Leadership Summit of Principles of leading diploma and engineering institutions across Maharashtra and neighbouring cities was held on September 11, 2023, at SIT Pune

The Leadership Summit is a unique program where leaders from various educational institutions converge to discuss and take innovative initiatives to shape the future of engineering education. 

Dr Ketan Kotecha, Director of SIT Pune and Mr Sudhakar Gudapati, CSR Head of Bajaj Auto Limited, Ramesh Head of Skilling, CSR Bajaj Auto LTD were the summit’s chief guests who graced the event. Principals and leaders of around 30 institutions participated in the event, and over 60 diploma institutions are yet to collaborate with SIT for BEST initiative.

Under the BEST initiative, Bajaj Auto Limited’s goal is to build state-of-the-art laboratories with world-class equipment, thereby ensuring that future engineering students will possess the enhanced hands-on skills necessary to make them skilful and employable in the ever-changing market. 

The BEST centre will provide advanced skill training to engineering graduates, potential Diploma Trainee Engineers (DTE), or Graduate Trainee Engineers (GTE) and help them achieve the skills required in the manufacturing industry. 

Mr RameshV, Head Skilling CSR of Bajaj Auto LTD. said that “Bajaj Auto will provide the training centers with the necessary equipment and fund the operational expenses in the initial phase. The training will focus on four critical modules: mechatronics, motion control and sensor technology, robotics and automation, and industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing.”

The curriculum is aligned with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and focuses on future-centric topics like robotics, mechatronics and automation, industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, manufacturing improvement systems, and motion control and sensor technology. 

The social awareness inherent in the MoU reflects the core values of SIT Pune and following its long-standing legacy of excellence, the institution is resolved to be part of more initiatives of the likes of BEST.
