S Indu Appointed as Vice Chancellor of Delhi Technological University

New Delhi: As per the latest update, the Delhi Government has appointed S. Indu as the new Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Delhi Technological University (DTU). Before this appointment, she was the university's Dean of Student Welfare (DSW).

Informing about the appointment, the DTU’s official notice reads, “The lieutenant-governor, Delhi, is pleased to assign the charge of vice-chancellor, Delhi Technological University to professor S Indu, dean (student welfare), DTU with effect from September 26 until the new Vice-Chancellor assumes office.”

S Indu replaced JP Saini, VC of Netaji Subhas University of Technology, who was holding an extra charge as the Vice Chancellor of DTU. The post of VC at DTU has been vacant for the past two years. Till now, S Indu worked as a professor in Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of DTU. 

Her research subjects include computer vision, image processing, and wireless sensor networks. She has published over 150 patents, books, book chapters, peer-reviewed journals, conferences, symposia and seminars, talks and proceedings. 

S Indu has experience in the administrative field, includin-g in DSW, DTU, and as a Public Relationship Officer (PRO). She was in charge of DTU studio and social media and was chairperson of the Cultural Council.

She completed her Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Master in Technology (MTech) degrees from the University of Kerala. After this, she pursued her PhD from the University of Delhi

DTU University (initially established under the name – Delhi Polytechnic) was established in 1941 to administer the needs of Indian industries for trained technical manpower with practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge.
