Prof Dilip Kumar Baidya Took Charge As The New Director of NIT Silchar

New Delhi: Prof. Dr. Dilip Kumar Vaidya has been appointed as the new director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kharagpur in addition to his new position as permanent director of NIT Silchar. Rajat Gupta, the NIT Silchar director-in-charge, gave Professor Dilip Kumar the medical charge on Monday, May 22, 2023.

Professor Vaidya Kharagpur joined the Indian Institute of Technology in 1994 and has served as the department's head since 2008. She is also a professor and mentor at the school's Ranveer and Chitra Gupta School of Infrastructure Design and Management.

Chanat graduated with a bachelor's in civil engineering from Bengal Engineering College (now IIEH) in 1987, and he completed his M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from there in 1989 and 1993, respectively. With 35 years of M. Tech dissertation experience and a 9-year Ph.D. in geo-technical engineering, Dr. Vaidya has more than 30 years of teaching and research expertise.

Vice chairman of the IIT Kharagpur zone, chairman of the JEE, head of the test, and holder of a number of administrative positions at IIT Kharagpur. In discussions and conferences held on a national and worldwide scale, he has published more than 125 research papers.

The research paper by Khan from grade four won for best research paper distribution. Additionally, he spent two years working in Trinidad and Tobago at the University of the West Indies.
