New Delhi: BHU Varanasi has organised the prize distribution ceremony of Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita at Swatantra Sabhagar on February 23, 2024. The event was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he launched the booklet on Kashi Sansad Pratiyogita and a coffee table book. 

On this occasion, the Prime Minister presented awards to the winners of the Kashi Sansad Gyan Pratiyogita, Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita, and Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita at BHU. He also distributed books, uniform sets, musical instruments, and merit scholarships to Varanasi Sanskrit students.

Following this, he visited the Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita exhibition and interacted with participants. He expressed his satisfaction at being among the young students and praised the efforts of newer generations to strengthen the old city's identity. 

Addressing participating, PM Modi said, "Kashi is the capital of eternal knowledge. Kashi is not just a center of faith but it is a vibrant center of India's eternal consciousness”. He further congratulated the winners and shared that “No participant has been defeated or lagged, instead, everyone has learned from this experience”.

In his speech, the PM described 'Teerths' such as Kashi and Vishwanath Dham as the 'Yagyashala' of the nation's growth, highlighting the connections between India's knowledge legacy and cultural and spiritual sites. “New ideas are born in a place of such diversity. New ideas nurture the possibility of progress.”, the Prime Minister added.
