PGIMER Hosted Workshop on Mind Body Intervention Through Yoga on January 8

New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the Yoga Centre of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Institute (PGIMER) has successfully organised a meaningful workshop on "Mind-Body Intervention: Emerging Status" on January 8, 2024.

The key highlights of the workshop held at PGIMER include a session on Yoga Therapy: Evidence & Future Perspective, Palliative Care, Life Style Diseases, De-addiction, Neurobiology of Sleep and Consciousness. The workshop was attended by healthcare professionals and doctors.

Expressing his gratitude, PGIMER Director Dr Vivek Lal shared that this workshop aims to cover diverse topics for the benefit of doctors and paramedical staff. After this workshop, an experts’ meeting is scheduled to take place at the Chandigarh State Guest House on January 9 and 10, 2024.

Informing about the session, Dr Pramod Avti, Professor of Biophysics and Member of Yoga Centre and Organising Secretary said, "The integration of yoga into the global healthcare delivery system is based on scientific data in managing various health conditions, including neuro-disorders, lifestyle diseases, and cardiovascular ailments”.

"Yoga practice not only enhances synergy between mind and body but also strengthens a doctor's capacity to cope with burnout and stress. We are interested in developing patient-centric disease-specific yoga protocols”, added Dr Vivek Lal, Professor of Neurology and Director of PGIMER.
