NMIMS's School of Engineering has entered into a strategic partnership with Binghamton University, State University of New York, aimed at enhancing engineering education.

New Delhi: The School of Engineering at the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) has entered into a collaboration with Binghamton University, State University of New York, to enhance engineering education opportunities.

This partnership will bring advantages to NMIMS's educational institutions, including the Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering (MPSTME) located in Mumbai, Shirpur, and the School of Technology Management and Engineering (STME) situated across campuses in Indore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Navi Mumbai.

Under the terms of the agreement, these institutions will implement a collaborative 3.5+1.5-year degree program. This novel approach involves NMIMS students spending three and a half years studying at NMIMS and then dedicating one and a half years to further studies at Binghamton University

Upon successful completion of this program, participating students will be conferred with a bachelor's degree from NMIMS and a master's degree from Binghamton University.

NMIMS has highlighted the significance of a multicultural experience and the development of soft skills in today's highly competitive job market. Graduates in engineering who possess both technical proficiency and the ability to function effectively in diverse settings are in great demand. 

The collaboration between NMIMS and Binghamton University is expressly designed to foster the cultivation of these crucial skills, the university's press release said.

This program will offer students a multitude of opportunities, including research opportunities, the pursuit of master-level courses aligned with their specialization, exposure to diverse learning environments, and a broad global perspective, the press release highlighted.

Sharad Mhaiskar, the Pro Vice-Chancellor of NMIMS, expressed that the collaboration with Binghamton University represents a significant transformation in engineering education, arming the students with the skills and perspectives essential for success in an increasingly interconnected and multicultural world.

Krishnaswami Srihari, the Dean of the Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University, State University of New York, stated that in today's world, having a global mindset has become imperative for students. This program highlights their commitment to fostering global perspectives among engineering students, in addition to providing them with technical and applied knowledge.
