NEET PG 2023 Cut-off Revised, Health Ministry Reduces Qualifying Percentile to Zero

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved a groundbreaking decision to reduce the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 to 'zero.' across all categories. The authority approved the decision after the recommendation was considered by the ministry.

According to Sunil Kumar Gupta, Undersecretary, “I am directed to refer to the above-mentioned subject and to say that the recommendation for a reduction in the qualifying percentile for post-graduate courses for 2023 (NEET PG 2023) has been considered in the ministry. Approval of competent authority is hereby conveyed for the reduction of the qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 to “zero” across all categories.”

Rohan Krishnan, Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), has reacted to this decision stating that a reduction to Zero suggests every student who appeared for NEET PG 2023 can apply for admission to medical programs.

He called it a very bad decision and condemned it. “Merit has died today. This is a worrying issue,” Krishnan said. He asked the organisations using such tactics to help their family members in getting medical admissions to think before they raise such demands.

He also said that with this decision, the government has allowed private colleges to make money and he will oppose the decision. The doctor urged others to boycott such organisations.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) and United Doctors’ Front Association (UDFA) appealed to the NMC to lower the qualifying cutoff for the NEET PG 2023 exam in order to allow more aspirants in the NEET PG Counselling process.
