MDI Gurgaon Hosts Annual National Management Convention ‘Delphique 2020’; Read Event Highlights Here

December 22, 2020: Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon virtually hosted the 24th edition of the annual national management convention, ‘Delphique 2020’.

MDI Gurgaon held the event marking a convergence of organisations, academicians, industry peers, and students to interact and share their opinions on critical issues faced by today’s corporate world.

The event included Knowledge Partnership (research panel discussions based on live projects), Vincenza (International B-plan competition), Cerebro (national case study competition), and Model United Nations (MUN – debating and diplomacy conclave).

Delphique 2020’s theme was “Indian Economy Post Covid: Steps Taken by the Government and the Way Ahead.”

Rabi Mirsa, Former Executive Director of Reserve Bank of India; Gurbachan Singh, Professor from Indian Statistical Institute; Professor Gourav Vallabh from XLRI, Jamshedpur and National Spokesperson of INC; and Prof Arun Kumar from Institute of Social Sciences were invited by MDI Gurgaon to discuss on the matter and share their views on it.

The event kickstarter with lighting lamps, while Prof Jyotsna Bhatnagar, Dean (Graduate Programmes and Student Affairs) welcomed Harsh Mariwala, Founder and Chairman, Marico to deliver his keynote address.

Harsh Mariwala while delivering the keynote address explained that Industry 4.0 uses advanced technology which is meant for humanity and not the other way around. He encouraged the students to learn from their mistakes and never give up on their goals.

Delphique 2020’ prioritized the management department for operations, marketing, operations strategy, human resource, strategy, and market research. Strong research and determination helped the students to come up with themes like B2B e-retail industry, B2B marketing, strategies for faster adoption of rooftop solar panels in the marketing and strategy areas.

Event’s knowledge partner included Udaan for the operations strategy panel while Sterlite Technologies, Sungrow Company, and Happ Coach, were the knowledge partners for the marketing panel. 

V Tran was the Operations panel’s knowledge partners, while for the HR panel, it was DS Group, and for the market research panel, knowledge partners were Pine Labs and Caters Point.

The theme of the HR Conclave 6.0, flagship event of the HR Direction club of MDI Gurgaon, was ‘Resilient HR: Rewind. Rejuvenate. Reposition,’ attracted participation from all over the students' community and industry experts.

The panels finally engaged in vivid discussions on HR Conclave with the industry experts like Dr GP Rao, Founder and Managing Partner, Good People Relations; Bhavna Batra, Managing Director, Managing Consulting - PwC and Budaraju Sudhakar, Joint President - HR, Adani Group. 

It also included, Prem Singh, President, HR Group, JK Organisation; Dr Sanjeev Dixit, Global President - Human Capital Management, Cadila Pharmaceutical Limited; V K Singh, Director HR, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd; and moderated by Prof Jyotsna Bhatnagar, Dean - Graduate Programmes and Chair PGP-HRM, MDI Gurgaon.
