Condition of IMS-BHU, advertisement twice... 113 seats remained vacant even after interview

New Delhi: The recruitment process for 180 Senior Resident (SR) positions at IMS BHU faced challenges despite two advertisements and 353 applications. Following a series of four-day interviews, only 67 candidates were selected, leaving 113 positions still vacant

Although the Dental and Ayurveda faculties of IIM BHU successfully filled their seats, specific departments within the Trauma Center and Medicine Faculty struggled to attract applicants during the IMS BHU recruitment process.

IMS BHU had 96 vacant SR posts in the Medicine Faculty, 75 in the Trauma Centre, 3 in the Dental Faculty, and 6 in the Ayurveda Faculty. The initial recruitment advertisement was issued on August 1, 2023, but faced complications, leading to a second release on November 30, 2024

The interviews conducted by the IMS administration took place from February 26 to 29, 2024, and the results were subsequently published on the BHU website on March 4, 2024.

The outcome revealed that only 67 Senior Residents were selected across all four faculties. The unfulfilled positions, particularly in the Trauma Center and Medicine Faculty, may prompt the IMS administration to consider issuing another recruitment advertisement shortly.
