IIT Bhilai Placement 2020: Highest Package Stands at INR 31.97 LPA; 46 Offers Received So Far; Details Here

Braving the pandemic blues, IIT Bhilai conducted the placement drive for the batch of 2020. With the placements being held, the institute reached new heights. 

IIT Bhilai recorded the highest package of INR 31.97 LPA so far. About 150 students registered for the placement drive out of them, 46 offers have been received so far as the placement is still ongoing.

IIT Bhilai Placement 2020: Highlights

Some of the reputed organisations have participated in the drive, that includes Amazon, ABB, TCS Research Innovation, L&T, Reliance Jio, Commvault, Paytm, Air Asia and Radisys.

Placement trends suggest that COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent economic slowdown and disruption did not create any impact on the job offers. From the first week of December 2020, almost all major IITs began placement drives in virtual mode.

Despite the new normal, IITs across the country have been reporting high placement rates and even higher packages. IIT Bombay cited the highest number of recruiters with students receiving more than 977 offers.

About 310 organisations participated in IIT Bombay Placement 2020, with maximum offers in the Engineering & Technology sector. This year, 5 jobs were offered to IIT-B students in phase I placement sessions even by two PSUs. 

Meanwhile, three students of IIT Bhilai also received pre-placement offers from VMware and Needl.ai at packages of 19.3 LPA each. 

As per, Dr Dhiman Saha, Faculty-in-Charge of Placement, IIT Bhilai, the institute witnessed positive trends in the first phase. The previous season saw 135 companies participating in the placements for extending job offers to students. Additionally, about 82 students received plum job offers from top recruiters in the last season.
