New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhilai has announced a significant collaboration with the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), the German Academic Exchange Service, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

As per IIT Bhilai, this collaboration intends to strengthen their shared scientific interests and encourage greater India-German interaction. The DAAD-IIT Bhilai bilateral exchange project aims to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions and German universities for research organizations.

The MoU represents both institutions' recognition of the critical role of academic and scientific collaboration, as well as their shared commitment to developing strong partnerships between students and researchers.

The worth of this relationship was emphasised by Professor Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, who stated that "this partnership will facilitate a two-way transfer of knowledge, enhancing the strength of our research collaborations”.

Reciprocal visits are envisaged under this partnership, with up to three academic members from IIT Bhilai visiting German universities. Simultaneously, faculty from Germany are asked to participate in research stays, which may involve teaching.
