IIM Indore, AKTU Inks MoU to Train Women in Finance, Leadership and Entrepreneurship

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the shared goal of training the women of Uttar Pradesh in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and leadership.

As a part of this collaboration, IIM Indore and AKTU will jointly work on the development of specialised courses targeted at improving the capacities of academic individuals and students throughout colleges and universities in Uttar Pradesh

Informing about this initiative, IIM Indore Director, Himanshu Rai said, “We will make at least two AKTU teachers nodal officers in each district. These teachers, preferably of MBA courses, will be trained by IIM-I on how to train women. Thereafter, they will be reaching out to around 100-200 women in their respective districts to transform these women into successful leaders and entrepreneurs”.

“We will train women who are skilled in chikankari, handicraft, or any other skill but are unaware of the potential they have, the market and the amount of recognition and financial rewards they deserve for their skills. Also, both institutes will work on entrepreneurship development and incubation centres,” he said.
