The Environment Society of India organised a state-level orientation workshop at the Rajeev Gandhi seminar hall, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh on October 5, 2023.

New Delhi: The Environment Society of India (ESI) has organized a workshop at Rajeev Gandhi seminar hall, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh on October 5, 2023. 

The workshop has been conducted under the National Children Science Congress 2023 for resource teachers in association with the PU and Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC).

The workshop was based on the theme 'Understanding ecosystem for health and well-being' and its sub-themes for the National Children Science Congress 2023. The National Children's Science Congress has been sponsored and catalyzed by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology of the union government.

At the orientation program, about 200 teachers, resource persons from various government and private schools, and self-employed tutors attended. The workshop was inaugurated by Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, director of school education in Chandigarh. RC Mishra, MD of Haryana Police Housing Corporation, Panchkula, and president of the Environment Society of India, Chandigarh, will preside over the orientation program.

Jaspreet Kaur, a Botany professor at PU; KS Bath, principal scientist at Punjab State Council for Science and Technology; Gaurav Sapra, a professor at Panjab University; Paramjeet Singh, lecturer at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, and state academic coordinator of the Environment Society of India, Chandigarh; and NK Jhingan, the society's secretary, served as resource persons for the teachers' orientation program started at 9 AM.
