New Delhi: Banaras Hindu University has received the India Research Excellence Citation Award 2023 for its outstanding contribution to the field of research. The award highlights the importance of research and its impact on advancing knowledge and society.
This award was presented to Dr. D. K. Singh, Librarian Sayaji Rao Gaekwad Central Library, BHU in New Delhi. The library offers an extensive range of books, research journals, and reference material to the university's students as well as to its researchers, faculty members, and staff. It is one of the largest University Library systems created in India.
India Research Excellence Award requires the profile of the award winners to be listed on the official website and maintained along with the certificate, medal, Memento, and photographs as a testimony.
The selection criteria for this award is a lengthy process based on factors such as the number of publications, citations, research impact, and originality of work. It ensures that only the deserving individuals are recognized for their achievements.

The library was also awarded the Best Library award by the Indian Librarian Association. This year nine researchers and 11 institutions have received the research excellence awards.
