You will become a knowledgeable and skilful professional nurse, contributing to the health of individuals and communities.


The BNurs curriculum reflects on the country’s multifaceted healthcare system, presenting a interprofessional view of patient care.

During your studies you will be involved in clinical practice blocks and research based-clinical projects. These are designed to develop your critical thinking and practical knowledge.

The topics range from mental health nursing and older persons' health, to child and family healthcare, M?ori and Pacific health, medical and surgical nursing, management, and leadership in nursing.

After successful completion of the BNurs, graduates may apply for registration as a comprehensive nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.


Our nursing degree focuses on interprofessional practice and care, just like it is in the workplace. You’ll learn that health and healthcare is multifaceted and dynamic, and goes beyond health and illness care to nurture the growth of healthy communities. Throughout your studies you complete 1,200 hours of practical experience in hospitals and in the community.

Graduates who pass the Nursing Council of New Zealand’s State Examination gain registration as a Registered Nurse.

Admission Criteria/Better to Have
  • High school education till grade 12th

  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 75 percent in the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC), Indian School Certificate (ISC), Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal State Board Examinations with a minimum of 70 percent in English.
  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 80 percent in all other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations with a minimum of 75 percent in English.

Must be capable of meeting Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA Act) and Children’s Act 2014 requirements, including police clearance
Preference will be given to applicants with one subject from Classical Studies, Drama, English, Geography, Health Education, History, History of Art, Media Studies, Social Studies, Te Reo M?ori or Te Reo Rangatira, and one subject from Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Physics, Science, Calculus, Mathematics, Statistics
