Likes
- The university is one of the best to study biology. It has a very good facility with the required instruments and laboratories.
- The university is well organized and have nice places to chill with friends. It has a great infrastructure and has the needed facilities for every student who studies here. The place where the university is located is also in a clean, good city.
Dislikes
- Being a university in german, it has quite a lot of courses that are taught in german. Whilst the number or courses taught in English are increase, still I feel there is a bit of gap. And moreover the food in the cafeteria is sometimes not the best.
Required Exams for Admission
It is quite good being here. I have liked the place from the very beginning. The lectures, labs and the practical are extremely organized and are very helpful to gain insights to the recent developments in the field.
Course Curriculum
The course content are based on the research that is happening, so it is the very recent things happening in the world that is being discussed in the course content. Opportunities for research experiences are plenty in the program through various internships and lab rotations.
Faculty
There are just 32 students per study intake. The staff are extremely helpful, and are well engaging in the classes. Professor Tassula, who works here in autophagy is extremely supportive.
Campus Life
The campus has almost every facility that any student might ask for . There are multiple libraries with books in numerous subject areas. The research facility here has multiple excellence centers.
Placement
The student here enter research mostly, where they get PhD positions in top labs across the world. They are respected for the experience they gain.
Accommodation
It is quite challenging to get a accommodation. But the student housing is affordable with wifi and the other charges included.
Exams
My scores : IELTS : 8. I did not have any other specific requirement. I did not give the GRE exam at all. I had to give the usual regular documents like the SOP, LOR and CV. These basically mentioned how interested I am in the course and how my background suits the study program. The LOR on the other hand mentioned my works with the PI and how suitable I worked with the research group.
Fees
I have a tuition fee of 1500 euros and a semester contribution of 168 euros.
