- To be honest, I filtered some Universities for me and applied to all of them, I didn't receive replies from all but I got accepted at TUI which was also unbelievable for me as it was a Technical university and it has more importance in regards if one wants a career in Research.
- As I got an admission to the university, it was covid period. The classes were online. Still, teachers supported very well in all aspects, we used to have presentations, projects, research papers and reports. So, study was not compromised at all.
Dislikes
- I didn't find anything as such, that I did not like about Technical University of Ilmenau. Also, I am aware that students are concerned about Racism, but personally I never experienced such things. And still if any student does face it, then there are organizations in the university where it can be reported.
Required Exams for Admission
It was awesome as I learned a lot there. Especially living alone and managing everything. University went very well and I did participate in various events, exhibitions and parties too.
Course Curriculum
It was a research based masters. So, I got to write research papers and reports. Also, I got a chance to review other research papers. I also did a Research Project during the study.
Faculty
Everyone is ready to help you, it's that you need to ask for help to the faculty when needed and not rely on a friend.
Campus Life
It was a campus with WiFi access, and also in the dorms. There used to be various events in which one can participate and volunteer.
Placement
You need to apply on your own, though the University organizes various job fairs round the year. And you need to have an updated CV in German format and also a cover letter which should be different for different companies.
Accommodation
I used to live near the University in the dorms, and my room rent was around 200 EUR. It was basically a shared apartment but under Studierendenwerk Ilmenau.
Exams
My scores: IELTS: 6.5, minimum score: 6.0 or any proof mentioning that you studied in English language. I did submit SOP, LOR's and my CV in German format for both Visa and University
Fees
I had no tuition fee, just the semester fee which was somewhere around 130 EUR.
