Ankita Jha Review at Technical University Dresden [TU DRESDEN], Dresden | Collegedunia

Education abroad in a nutshell

Overall, it was a really nice experience with professors and getting to know about education abroad.

Course Curriculum :

Yes, we had multiple lab courses and projects. For the master's project and thesis we had lab exposure.

Exams :

My IELTS score was 7 overall Writing 6.5, Reading 7, Listening 7, Speaking 7 Apart from this if you have GRE score it is good but not mandatory. Yes, I had to submit a motivation letter along with my application. The work experience and skills are mostly recognized in the CV. Yes, one round from the selection committee includes technical questions.

Placement :

There is no such placement process happened in our university. Students has to apply according to their wish either in academia and industry.

Internship :

I was working as a graduate research assistant (HIWI) in some research labs to gain some experience.

Fees :

There were no tuition fees for my program. We just paid around 300 euros for the semester contribution.

Faculty :

The professors and administration were very nice and supportive throughout the entire program. Prof. Stefan Diez and Prof. Braun were very motivated to research.

Campus Life :

Unfortunately in Covid times, we did not get the opportunity to explore it fully. But they have lots of extracurricular activities and I get a chance to participate in one of them.

Hostel :

It was really great the dorms in terms of price and other facilities. Every student gets single room with sharing kitchen and washrooms.
