About MCM DAV
Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh popularly known as MCM DAV, was established in 1968 by the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, to commemorate the meritorious services rendered by Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, former Chief Justice of India, a distinguished legal luminary, great patriot, administrator par excellence, committed educationist, social reformer and humanist.

Various students support services are available to groom our students into conscientious member of society which primarily include the following:
- Legal Literacy Club: Women empowerment does not become meaningful without law on its side. The college became the first college ever in the city to launch a Legal Literacy Club.
- Grievance Cell: The cell helps in direct communication of the students with the Management. Locked boxes are kept in the college and hostel through which students can communicate their grievances.
- Character Building Cell: The cell looks after the moral well-being of young students. The students visits old-age homes, participates in hawans and are engaged in several social outreach activities.
- Health Care Unit: The unit, constantly regulates the health related problems of the students. The college provides the services of a general physician, a gynecologist and a skin specialist.
- Geetanjali: The helpline is available to the students facing emotional, Psychological or social problem.
- N.C.C: NCC inculcates a spirit of discipline and patriotism amongst the students. It helps to broaden their outlook and develop the quality of leadership and spirit of fraternity. The college unit offers Army and Navy Wing.
- N.S.S: To enrich the students personality and deepen her understanding of the social environment in which she lives.

I applied to delhi university but as u know the cut off went too high and i was unable to make it clear out and then i searched all other colleges and then i find Chandigarh mcm dac College to be the one in which i can take the admission so i choose this college

- The washrooms of college is also very clean and well maintained. The college washrooms also has a sanitary pads wending machine which is a very thoughtful of the college faculty

I also applied to other colleges which are A) post graduate government college of chandigarh -42 B) post graduate government college of chandigarh - 11 But i choose meharchand mahagan dav college over them is that mcm dav college offered vast variety of subject combinations compared to the other colleges which i found very good because as a student I have more options to explore. Mcm dav college offered much better exposure to students in terms of studies, extra curriculum activities, fests, workshops etc. the teachers in mcm dav college are much more experienced and cooperative in this college. The admission process is merit list based. We can also give cuet exams. Admission process is online and offline also, according to our convenience we can get admission from any of the mode

i chose this college because of the study pattern in the college its really good and all the faculty members are also very supprtive and i did applied for other colleges but did not ended up taking admission in those because they did not had this coure as in the combined form. the admission process is not thta difficult as you think as nowdays everything is online so you dont even have to go the collgege they would just ask you to submit the major documents thta to online and nothing else

- Library of mcm is pretty big and has a great environment to study. It has 2 floors, ac is available on both floors. Tons of books to choose from , overall its a good library.
- Another good thing it has a facility of food, like variety of foods . there is also a tuck shop which has every single thing you would require from books to necessary things.
Dislikes
- Hostel food, it is good but not that good because sometimes it is not that hygienic to be eaten by the hostellers.
- Infrastructure, college’s infrastructure needs to be better. it is fine but needs some renovations here and there because broken table are witnessed in the classrooms

I applied to all of the colleges under PU but on the top preference, i kept MCM and other than this my second option was Post graduate government college for girls sector 42. It is a pretty nice college too with a better infrastructure than mcm dav college but the faculty and the vibes of mcm are good. As mcm is both a mixture of functions and lots of study. Different types of events keep happening here in this college. Admission process in mcm is very simple, you just need to fill the form for the course you want to take admission in from the website itself. Eligibility for bsc non medical is having to do non medical in 12th class with percentage at least 85% or above. It will be a little difficult below that unless someone has a reservation certificate.

The eligibility (for bachelors in arts) programme is that you have cleared your class 12th exam in minimum 50% above. The admission is done in two ways, online and offline. Online through MCM official site and offline through visit college during June month. There are no eneterace exam for this course and the course exam are done two times in a year (6 months). I would want to suggest the college to have an updated notice board which announced even smallest of notices regarding admissions and college re opening

The admission process is first we have to fill up the online form then after some days the college itself email is to pay our feees it may be online or offline it's depand on us and after that they have us the dates for the college and hostel as well as . It's nothing like the merit list because it is an private college

Firstly there's no interview thing for admission, no exams , no difficult process . It's very simple as during admission one should go for online link provided by college and there you fill your necessary details and payment and your admission is done and within same day you will provide the roll number too. So it's quite easy and if anyone still face issue then our college admission staff always ready to help as they are 24/7 available

The eligibility of the course is 12th pass with first division. The application form is available on the official site of the college. I have not availed any reservation benefit therefore can't say much on it. The admission process can be improved a bit by avoiding red tapism.

Anybody after 12th can opt for bca without man and computer as well. Preference is given to those who has done maths and computer. To find the application form, fees there's official website of mcm dav college where one can do so and there are contact information from where they can ask the faculty members without hesitation. Area of improvement would be they shouldn't ask for money for the addmission brochure

- Also the library is amazing and has a very nice collection of books. I mainly studied in the library during all my exams.

- Sometimes the college feels a bit too boring which is something that i disliked. The programmes and functions are all the same with same teams and same plans. It's repetitive.

My admission was based on the merit basis. The 12th percentage was taken in focus for our admission. The application form was on the website of Punjab University and also Mcm website. The application process starts in mid june. There are many reservation benefits for students of marginalised communities. There is also sports quota available. The admission process can be made easier if the website was morw user friendly and if the lists and rules were easier to comprehend.
