  • Dislikes:
  • Very cutthroat and low sense of community,
  • Grading was brutal when everything is curved to a C,
  • The weather in Toronto is not the best especially in the winter

I chose this university as I wanted to experience a new country and be challenged academically. It was also cheaper than other American private schools. Overall, I would say that it was a rough journey but I am happy to have made it through. I met some amazing people along the way and really grew as a person throughout my time there.

  • The timings of our canteen and other food places on campus are limited during the days and shut down early on weekends.,
  • Our classes are huge consisting of about 300-500 students which might be a problem sometimes as the professor does not get to address every student individually.,
  • No student is in their intended major in the first year as we have an additional requirement to be cleared which is to make POST (Program of our choice) to which we are admitted in our second year. This makes the university highly competitive and filters out students at the initial stage itself.,
  • Finances must be a concern for many international students as UofT has one of the highest fee requirements in the whole of Canada.,
  • Academic advisors and career counselors might be hard to reach out to many times as their schedules are busy with students from the upper years.

I chose this university because UofT has always been my dream university since my brother was admitted here. He recently graduated. I always used to hear him boast about how UofT is such a great school and a huge opportunity for international students to grow in and explore further. The competitiveness of UofT is one thing that was scary but attractive as well as it filters out the best students from all over the world and provides opportunities to all of them through resources on campus such as on-campus jobs, clubs, and even co-ops. UofT also has a variety of teachers from all over the world, some of which who are the most experienced and the best in their field in terms of knowledge and experience. In addition, knowing that UofT is ranked 25 in the world was capitative. I feel that UofT provides its students with opportunities not only in academics and careers through Co-ops but also in all kinds of sports, while also giving us a chance to be a part of Varsity Blues. Additionally, UofT also ensures involvement on and off campus by promoting different cultural, academic, and career-oriented clubs alongside Co-ops and on-campus jobs (the opportunity to experience different industries). My experience so far at the University of Toronto has surely been delightful and enigmatic only due to the different experiences I've had. The competitiveness of my university has allowed me to understand and push myself from what I thought I could achieve and try to undertake more challenges in order to try to overcome them and succeed. UofT helped me explore the different industries I could possibly be a part of, helped me become familiar with the culture and people abroad, as well as help me become independent and ensure I do all my work myself and manage multiple tasks with no one's help right from doing my laundry to managing my studies and being productive. I have learned how to adapt to different situations, become a risk-taker, and communicate with different people, organizations, and faculty members. So far, this has truly been an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

  • Less fun activities than other universities. I would say uoft is more academically focused with less activities happening in comparison to other universities.

I chose this university because of the course and ranking of the university , these aspects impacted my decision. Overall experience is really great, lots of things to learn , the campus is really pretty with good professors.

It was quick and simple, and my advisor was very helpful with the process. She helped me fill out all of the correct forms and helped me apply for financial aid. Went over the best route for the course in my field of study.

CV + supplementary about experiences and challenges. I wrote about extracurriculars with 420 in volunteer hours Awesome alumni network + high ambitious people. I also know uoft is one of worlds best in reasearch A awesome place with tons of the most ambitious young people in the world. The addition of like-minded people + the research heavy emphasis on work we do, make it the best uni to study especially if you love deep rooted research.

  • As well, the process of getting your money back when you drop a course is not applicable for any other term, which is very disappointing

The 5 main value propositions of the university are the following: 1)The diploma (i.e. the “I went to class certificate”) 2)The network of students/professors/alumni you build 3)Social prestige 4)Credibility amongst employers 5)Exposure to research: Ultimately U of T is a top research school, so if this appeals to you then go for it. Research placements are definitely cool, but they aren’t worth killing yourself over.

  • Dislikes:
  • The students there were not as good as I expected,
  • The ranking system was not good as it includes a lot of hardwork,
  • Some faculties were rude and did not responded well at my doubts

The admission was easy and was completed through my consultancy and it was very easy for me to prepare for the visa interview through my consultancy. My consultancy was Kanan which helped me with admission and visa interviews.

  • Dislikes:
  • I disliked the area of the campus, like we have to walk more from one class to other building for practicals.,
  • Also there are no garden available in the campus.

I have been using this website for the past few days and it really helped me with the good college's course and also it helped me with the complete information about the course and about the college. It also saved my time and provided me with accurate information. It also makes the admission process easy for me, the guidance through the consultant makes the process hassle-free for me.

  • Dislikes:
  • Sometimes too much focus on academic grades than practical experiences. Also, students get sometimes too much focus on just Consulting and Finance, which inhibits them to explore different areas. School can ensure students that career can grow in different areas by showing them more real life experiences.

It is good for the people who want to excel in their career. School gives the opportunity to change the domain experience as required.

  • Dislikes:
  • The most pressing concern especially for students coming from Asian countries like India, China etc. is the job market. Very frankly, the total number of companies and job openings anytime round the year are less than Bangalore or Gurugram alone.

Overall, the experience was enriching and fruitful.

Hello, I'm from India. I have a doubt regarding the Program Cloud Computing (Certificate) offered by the University of Toronto. Will this certificate count toward my PGWP? Can I apply for PGWP for taking this course?
S
Sinbad Chongtham

If you have graduated from a designated learning institution in Canada, you may be eligible to apply for PGWP. However, graduating from a designated learning institution does not automatically make you eligible to appy for PGWP. You will be able to apply for PGWP after completing the one-year Certificate in Cloud Computing program of this university.
