I like the residence and the city, and the program that I wanted they offered. It has a good reputation as a university. The city is nice and big and is great for students. My friend also decided to go to Halifax to study.
Course Curriculum :
It is good, it has lots to offer. There are many courses offered but also a lot of teachers but the class sizes are small. This is good because you can create a close relationship with your professors, better than at a bigger school.
Fees :
Tuition is about 7000 CAD a year, the residence is close to 10000 CAD depending on which you choose, then you also have to get a meal plan or live on the residence where you have a kitchen. Books are not too overpriced, and you can often get them second hand for much less.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure is ok. We have about 3 weeks after classes end where our exams will be scheduled. Some times you end up have 2 or 3 exams in one day and it is difficult to get them to change that. You may also have weeks without an exam.
Faculty :
The faculty is ok. SMU has arts, science, psychology, and business. A lot of focus is on business at SMU as that is their main program that people want. A lot of the money that SMU gets goes to business.
