Pragya Arya Review at George Brown College [GBC], Toronto | Collegedunia

Amazing Journey in Canada

Amazing. Everyday is a new day. Get new experiences and meet new people. Faculty is good. Infrastructure is well maintained. Transit is convenient. Have various places to hangout with friends like coffee shops, beaches, restaurants. Everything is in walking distance. Overall a very good experience so far.

Course Curriculum :

Course is challenging. College needs to update their curriculum. Some old software are taught by professor.

Exams :

IELTS score: 7.5 overall with no less than 6.0 Reading: 6.5 Listen:9 Speaking 7.5 Writing 6.5 I had to submit CV and SOP. Highlighted my previous experiences and reason why do i want to study in Canada.

Placement :

Pretty bad. Right now its recession. No one is hiring. You’ll have to keep applying for the job. I have applied 100’s of jobs. It’s difficult hearing back from them.

Internship :

Yes, I have. But it starts from September. I am still looking for the opportunities. So can’t comment on that.

Fees :

$19000 for the year including co-op fees.

Faculty :

Faculty is good and educated. They know what they are teaching just need to update their curriculum.

Campus Life :

Campus life is engaging. A lot of events are conducted by student associations at GBC. Have all the facilities like library, groceries.

Hostel :

I live in a rented house. Its on a sharing basis. Average rentals are $600 per month including all the utilities.
