Bachelor of Science [B.S] (Agricultural Education)
Field of Study:
$30,848 /Yr
- A one credit school practicum involves observation of agricultural instruction at schools across the state; this helps students understand the job of teaching agriculture, make career choices, and select a student teaching center. Apprentice teaching (student teaching) is carried out in an approved secondary school center under the daily supervision of an experienced, successful teacher of agriculture. Supervision is also provided by University of Georgia Agricultural Education faculty.
- The employment outlook is excellent: there is a national shortage of teachers of agriculture, and for the past 30 years Georgia has had more job openings than graduates of the program. Graduates are also eligible for a variety of related careers in agricultural business, leadership, industry, and government agencies.
