Visa and Financial Requirements

- The I-901 SEVIS Fee for F and M international students is $350
- Submit financial documentation that proves you have sufficient funds to meet one full year of expenses – check the table below for detailed fees.
- FALL & SPRING applicants are required to submit finances for a 9-month period of study.
- SUMMER applicants are required to submit finances for a 12-month period of study.
- If supporting- have bank complete the Bank Affidavit.
- If not self-supporting have the sponsor complete the Sponsor’s Statement & have the sponsor’s bank complete the Bank Affidavit.
- If sponsored by the government, employer, other organization or if you will be supported by a scholarship request an award letter stating your name, amount of U.S. Dollars for each year of study, beginning & ending dates; degree level; and major field of study.

F-1 Visa
F-1 is the most prominent student visa type for students seeking entry to US based institution including universities, colleges, high schools and other academic institutions.F-1 visas can be issued 120 prior to the commencement of course.
The first step is to apply for a SEVP (Student and Exchange Visitor Program)-approved institute. Once the candidates' applications are accepted, they must submit the I-20 form and deposit SEVIS I-901 fee. The final step is to apply at a nearby US Embassy or consulate for F-1 visa.
Form I-20
Form I-20 is typically issued by SEVP-approved institute after candidate application is accepted. I-20 should be received by the applicant prior to the payment of SEVIS I-901.
I-20 form will be required during frisking at the Port of Entry in USA, and will be considered a legal proof of enrollment to a program in a US institute.
SEVIS I-901 Fee
All the applicants are registered for SEVIS ( Student and Exchange Visitor Information System), after any SEVP-approved institute accepts their application. SEVIS I-901 fee is required to be paid for completing the registration process.
Candidates can not process ahead for issuance of visa without paying the stipulated SEVIS I-901 fee.
