Handshake is Howard University’s official career management portal for students to discover employers, internships, fellowships, employer-based scholarships, full-time jobs, and other employment opportunities.
- Enrolled F-1 students may work on the campus of their educational institutions. If students are in F-1 status when classes are in session or if they are registered with the Graduate School for the summer, they may work ONLY 20 hours per week so long as the job does not interfere with their ability to continue as a full-time student. During their vacation periods (winter breaks and 2-3 weeks at the end of the summer prior to fall registration) they may work full time.
