Bachelor [Athletic Training] From Georgia Southern University

The ATP is a three-year professional program. The Athletic Training majors complete six consecutive semesters of clinical and classroom coursework. This coursework focuses on the allied health profession, and encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Georgia Southern?s Athletic Training major is highly competitive and selective. It is accepted a limited number of students annually ? approximately 20 students.

Through clinical coursework, you will be exposed to a variety of clinical settings through opportunities with:

• The Southern athletic teams
• Southern recreation and club teams
• Area high school athletic teams
• Orthopedic surgeons
• General medical illness clinics
• Radiologists
• Emergency rooms

ATP students are able to demonstrate an understanding of athletic-related and human science concepts. These concepts and learning outcomes include:
