- At the completion of the agriculture education program, students will be certified to teach grades 9-12.
- The agriculture education program blends courses from two different departments to provide students with up-to-date information and skills in technical agriculture and teaching.
- MSU’s small faculty/student ratio provides students with individual attention and support for their educational and professional goals, which continues beyond graduation.
- The Darr College of Agriculture hosts annual FFA competitions, which provide students with hands-on experience working with high school students and the National FFA Organization.
- Once sudents are alumni, the College supports their teaching career by providing dual credit opportunities, which integrate college curriculum and resources into their high school classroom
- The agriculture education program at Missouri State gives students a broad education in agriculture while preparing them to teach in public high schools. MSU’s program focuses on the primary areas of animal science, natural resources, environmental plant science, economics, business, and natural resources. By becoming an agriculture educator, students help foster interest in agriculture industries and build the strength of our future food, fiber, and natural resource professionals.
