Students in the civil engineering degree program at SLU's Parks College of Engineering, Aviation and Technology are introduced to computer-aided design and other state-of-the-art-computational techniques during their freshman year. Our civil engineering students learn problem-solving techniques throughout their undergraduate careers, culminating in a two-semester capstone design sequence during which you'll become aware of the impact of design decisions, not only on the technical aspects of design but on society as a whole.Coursework incorporates the latest industry trends, as you explore three primary areas of focus:

  • Green design and environmental engineering
  • Infrastructure design, evaluation and restoration
  • Transportation planning, analysis and design

Competitive summer internships and cooperative education programs are available. SLU's civil engineering students also are able to pursue independent study on a civil engineering topic under the direction of a faculty member.
