Students in the program work with faculty in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics and statistics, mechanical engineering and physics. The curriculum requires a minimum of 66 credit hours, which include 15 to 18 credit hours of research leading to a dissertation.
The PhD in Molecular Sciences and Nanotechnology is a collaborative interdisciplinary degree offered by the College of Applied and Natural Sciences (ANS) and the College of Engineering and Science (ES). The coordinators and the steering committee, with the approval of the Dean of Graduate School, will establish the policies and procedures applicable to this program, evaluate applications, administer examinations, and oversee all aspects of the student?s work.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Applicant must have completed a bachelors degree in biological sciences, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related area is expected
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education with English translation
- Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or 3.2 in the last 60 hours attempted
- Submit three letters of recommendation from individuals qualified to assess your abilities
- Submit a letter of application that describes your research qualities and professional goals
- Submit official GRE scores with minimum total score of 304 in the Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning sections with a minimum of 146 in the Verbal Reasoning section
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 80 in iBT; minimum 550 in PBT; 8.5 in TOEFL Essentials
- IELTS: minimum score of 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum score of 105
- PTE: minimum score of 58
