The Bachelor of Arts (BA) major and minor in theater is designed for Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences students who are seeking a solid overview in theater as part of a well-rounded liberal arts education. It allows students to investigate the various disciplines in theater.
Students at Rutgers have a number of performance opportunities, regardless of college affiliation or major.
The BA major in theater consists of a balanced course of study in scholarship and art, stressing a theoretical approach. Upon completion of the degree, students are prepared for internships, employment in the arts community, graduate study, and graduate or studio training.
Entrance to the BA theater program requires only academic admission to the Rutgers School of Arts and Sciences and declaration of the theater major. An audition is not required.
Theater majors in the BA program are required to take a minimum of 47 credits, including courses in theater history, playwriting, and scenic art, as well as an internship.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- SAT/ACT Scores (with writing) [not needed if graduated from high school two or more years before the dates the classes start at SEBS or if the applicant have finished secondary school and have received at least 12 college credits with final grades by the admissions application due date.]
- Completed application form
- $70 nonrefundable application fee
- Official high school transcript(s) with final grades for all coursework with a certified translation in English. In addition, students might be asked to provide translated syllabi or course descriptions for faculty evaluation once on campus.
- If applicable, official college transcript(s) for all colleges previously attended with a certified translation in English.
Indian Eligibility:
- Indian School Certificate, Intermediate Certificate, Higher School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate, All India Senior School Certificate, and Pre-University course: (awarded on completion of Standard XII)
- Qualifying English Proficiency Tests like TOFL, IELTS,PTE and MELAB

Students applying for admission in the MS Computer Science program of Rutgers University, must have undergraduate program in Computer Science, or at least taken the core prerequisite courses. The mean GPA for the last admitted batch was 3.62. Along with that you must also have a valid GRE score.
