Our curriculum focuses on global diversity and universal design (design that is accessible to all people) as well as creating sustainable interiors. Ball State's interior design program is also committed to staying in touch with evolving technology such as AutoDesk Revit Architecture and Adobe Creative Suite. Our interior design program is one of the few programs nationwide that provide real-life experiences to the students by incorporating real projects into the curriculum. Visit University Design Center for more information.

Our degree program includes six challenging studios and six credit hours of internship experience. These learning opportunities will help build skills for your future in Interior design.

Connecting with other interior design students, faculty and professionals through Ball State's student organization, IDA (Interior Design Alliance) offers additional opportunities for professional growth, as well as a chance to attend conferences and participate in degree-related field trips. IDA is affiliated with both ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association).

As an interior design major, you will follow a common course of study throughout your four years at Ball State. This course of study includes the University Core Curriculum, a set of classes required of all undergraduate students regardless of academic major.
