  • While I do not feel that I dislike my college, I do not like the weather in Minneapolis. It gets colder during the winter months making it difficult to go out.

Course Curriculum:

No, I had to take up research and industrial opportunities.

Fees:

Ph.D. is paid by the university and advisor. No fees to be paid by student. We are paid a stipend of ~$30k/yr

  • Dislikes:
  • The campus is a little far from the cities, which may not be a big Yikes since there are transportation available for free, and paid as well. Good opportunity to earn money while on campus but still not enough, since mostly goes to the Work-Study program funds, which is for Domestic Students only.

Course Curriculum:

As a freshman coming from an Indian curriculum, I'd say it's in an Intermediate mode so far although hearing my seniors; it takes a pace from the second year and to not be fogged by the illusion of an easy curriculum, in regards to it is still on a good pace, understandable, and very much practical.

Fees:

13,536 USD for the whole year tuition.

  • Dislikes:
  • I don't have much dislike to point out from University perspective. But the winter there was extremely cold. As my stay was short duration, I was not able to access few of intranet sit which updates about the University activities, holidays, bus service etc. The bus service information did not update sometimes and I missed most of it

Course Curriculum:

Yes, we were trained for 1 month before exposure to lab regarding SOP of the instrument.

It was wonderful and great. I feel great that I could get the chance to extend to bilateral development and cultural exchange.

It was scary at first moving to a new country and not knowing anything but the welcoming nature and inclusiveness of the people made me feel at home and the curriculum is designed well and had ample opportunities to grow in this environment.

Course Curriculum:

I think there needs to be more actuarial science related classes to help me on while applying to jobs.

Fees:

The tuition that I pay is around $10,000 a year. I have loans through Sallie Mae to pay for college. I wasn't awarded any scholarship at UMD because I was a transfer student and there aren't many scholarships available for transfer students. I pay less because I live off-campus so I don't have to pay for dorm.

Course Curriculum:

Depending on the school I would say they have a wide verity. They offer a lot of different courses within the different programs and give every student an opportunity to try other classes within other programs.

It was done per semester, I was charged through my U of M account. I was charged a lot because of tuition, which is higher than most schools

Course Curriculum:

I think it?s perfect for my program and it covers everything that I need to know to be equipped for a job in business management. I really liked my leadership class because it taught me how to do a good job of being a good leader.

Course Curriculum:

I think that the course curriculum is quite tough, which is pretty widely known, but I do believe it should be considered a BS instead of a BA. I also think that the courses that are part of the major are relevant to the career paths generally taken by such majors.

Fees:

There are many fees included in the structure including tuition, books, dorms, student fees to use things such as the school gym, and other resources around campus.
