Environmental experts
As an environmental engineering major, you'll have the knowledge and hands-on experience to clean up contaminated wastewater, industrial wastes, sediments and air pollutants. You’ll understand the principles of water resources engineering for the modeling, management and protection of lakes, rivers and streams. You’ll practice the concepts of sustainability and urban management to sustain our planet.
Love multiple sciences?
Environmental engineers work at the interface of physics, chemistry and biology — for example, studying the physics of oxygen transferred from air to a river, the chemistry of dissolved gasses in the river and the uptake of dissolved oxygen by healthy fish. As an environmental engineering major at Marquette, you'll develop a strong foundation in multiple sciences.
Clean up the planet
As an environmental engineering major, you'll learn the fundamentals of designing systems for water resources and supply, wastewater treatment and disposal, air pollution control, and solid and hazardous waste management. You'll be well-prepared for a hot job market.
Be an engineer before you graduate
Through our co-op program, you'll incorporate 12 to 16 months of real engineering experience into your curriculum by working at one of many participating companies around the country.
