- The Health and Human Sciences (HHSC) major provides students an opportunity to learn about the human body and health by combining classroom training with state-of-the-art hands-on laboratory experiences. Students in the department of HHSC are interested in kinesiology, exercise science, understanding chronic disease, the use of exercise and nutrition to promote health, or the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. With the variety of class offerings, laboratory experiences, and internship opportunities, this major will prepare students for graduate studies in physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercise science, nursing, physician assistant, public health, entry-level graduate programs in athletic training, and other health professions.
- The Health and Human Sciences major offers specialized programs to provide prerequisite training for graduate programs or careers in such fields as physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant, nursing, public health, exercise science, and entry-level graduate programs in athletic training.
- Learning outcomes:
- The HHSC major will provide contemporary, evidence-based prerequisite training and advising for matriculation to graduate programs and careers in health and medical fields.
- Graduates will demonstrate mastery knowledge and interpersonal skills and effectively communicate on topics in human health and wellness amongst socioculturally, philosophically, and spiritually diverse individuals in institutional and allied healthcare settings.
- Graduates will demonstrate an appreciation and application of the mission of the University and the Department, as well as to the ethics of health and human science-related careers.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- International students are not required to submit the SAT or ACT to complete their application to LMU. Strong candidates for admission who do not provide these scores will provide alternate assessments of their academic abilities such as International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, A levels, or rigorous national examinations.
- Non-native English speakers must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) given by the Educational Testing Service and arrange for scores to be sent to the Office of Admission. As an alternative to taking the TOEFL, non-native English speakers may also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Submit your transcripts in English from all secondary schools/high schools attended. Full transcripts from each individual school year must be provided.
- Submit official transcripts showing all work in detail.
- LMU may grant advanced standing for certain foreign examinations and diplomas;
- Obtain certified English translations of all documents not presented in English.
- All documents submitted for admission become the property of the University and will not be returned.
